Still We Remain Necklace

This piece began its life many years ago as an antique shield-style medallion, shaped by time and wear rather than trends. Its surface carries a natural patina, earned, not manufactured—speaking quietly to decades of existence before it came into my hands.

I have carefully modified the original medal by setting a sculpted skull at its centre. The skull is a memento mori: a timeless symbol of mortality, endurance, and the passage of generations. Rather than diminishing the original object, the addition deepens its meaning, transforming it into a personal relic that bridges past and present.

Every mark, shadow, and softened edge tells a story. This is not a reproduction, nor a piece meant to look old. It is old, and it has been respectfully carried forward into its next chapter. Designed to be worn, kept, and eventually passed on, it holds the weight and quiet gravity of an heirloom.

This talisman has survived years already, and with care, it will endure many more—gathering new history, new hands, and new stories along the way.
